Eighty Tales from the Vault
2010 celebrates the 80th anniversary of the Manly Art Gallery & Museum. This special exhibition highlights some of the fascinating stories that have contributed to the life of the Gallery over 80 years; its diverse collection and Gallery founders, together with new contemporary works by artists of the region.

Royal Far West - Caring for Country Kids in Manly
The Extraordinary Legacy of Stanley G. Drummond & Lucy Drummond Presented in partnership with Royal Far West and curated by Margo Bavinton, this exhibition gives insight into its unique history and service, operating in Manly since 1924, initially bringing children from remote country areas for respite in seaside Manly and now providing specialist health services not available in rural areas.

Frameworks: Illustrators – From Pen to Pixel
Artist and curator Angela van Boxtel explores the visual language of illustration through artworks presented in Manly Council’s Frameworks outdoor gallery project. Artists include Angela van Boxtel, Lara Allport, Julie Nettleton, Saffron Craig, Hung Lin, Cheryl Orsini, Simon Swingler and Alissa Stytsenko.

The Magic of Light
An exhibition showing the impact of light and the many visual variations that it creates: the wonder of light and its ability to give a painting life, the magic of light and glass, and the mystery of light and its effect on porcelain.

Tree Huggers
Artist Angela van Boxtel explores recycling and eco awareness in an exciting outdoor public art project. Recycled textiles are turned into wrap artworks, many featuring imprints of the natural environment. Artworks will be wrapped around the trees at Manly Cove to create this vibrant outdoor exhibition.

Renaissance Reworked
An exhibition of old and new technologies, retelling the narratives of old masterwork paintings, presented by students from the School of Fine Arts, Digital Arts and Design, Northern Beaches College. Also, come along to the Open Studio Day with free tours of the various studios around campus.

The Murray darling river basin – a journey
This event is an art exhibition that explores the Murray Darling River Basin at length. The artist Rachel Carroll began her journey at the Murray Mouth and the Coorong Wetlands in 2006 in South Australia as part of her Masters at COFA, UNSW.
